Founded in 1946 as the first national university of Korea, Seoul National University (SNU) is consistently ranked one of Asia’s best universities and currently ranked in the global top 50 (36 – QS 2018). Highly selective, SNU is primarily a research intensive institution with academic strengths across all subject areas.

An urban campus surrounded by nature, it is located in the southern outskirts of Seoul (c.10million population) – ranked as #4 best student city in the world – and is served by its own subway station! Around 30,000 students study at there on Seoul’s largest campus offering a vibrant campus life with c.200 student clubs and organizations, a wealth of invaluable academic and cultural resources, and facilities you would expect at one of the world’s leading universities.

SNU embraces its vision of becoming a truly global university, academic exchange agreements with around 860 universities and research institutes worldwide. Modules are taught in English in a variety of subject areas, but Korean language courses are available to learn the basics. It offers also a Buddy Program for incoming exchange students.

Given its location, students at SNU enjoy the benefits of a large global mega-city, a more traditional university campus, but also the mix of the modern and the historic, given Seoul and Korea’s rich historical and cultural past.
