Unforgettable summer at Aarhus

Written by Aleksandra Vasileva

My study abroad experience was an unforgettable one. I really liked the architecture of the country and the people in the city I was in. In addition to this, the host university was a great one as it made my stay in Denmark as comfortable as possible. Their social program was good and interesting and managed to help me make friends during my first few days in Aarhus.

While in Aarhus, I had the chance to visit many of the popular tourist sites. A few of the most memorable ones were the famous deer park and the infinite bridge, both by the seaside! In addition to this, I had the chance to meet amazing people and to gain new friends from all around the world. Together we went to amazing places in the city like the international street food market, botanical gardens and the old town.

Despite all those nice experiences, the one thing I am maybe the proudest of is that I managed to create lasting and good friendships and to have all those experiences shared with people I now find close and dear to me!

In addition, I have benefitted from studying abroad because of the knowledge I have gained. The ” Youth, Drugs and Alcohol” course which I took helped me develop my understanding and gave me a different and interesting insight on a topic which I was not well aware of. What is more, it has now shown me a different field of possible future work which I believe is a possibility for my future development.

I believe that being a recipient of Turing Scheme funding impacted me in a positive way. It gave me support as I was not going to be able to proceed with the Summer School without it!
